- Afton Nunes, Environmental Technician
Afton is a 2003 graduate of Modesto Junior
College’s Dairy Science Program. She is also currently pursuing a
Bachelors of Science in Agriculture Business from CSU Stanislaus. A
resident of Modesto, she was born and
raised on the family’s dairy farm Nunes Farms, N-6, where her
family grows a variety of crops, runs a custom hay service and has a dairy
heifer operation. A member of FFA and 4H, Afton showed livestock ,
including dairy replacement heifers. Her previous work
experience is with Yosemite Farm Credit where she worked for six
years and promoted agriculture financing. Afton says she will
utilize her communication skills, agriculture experience, organizational
skills and background in the agriculture industry.
"I’m excited to be a part of
the WUES team," says Afton. "I am very passionate about agriculture, and
look forward to working with people in the
California dairy industry." Afton covers Merced and Stanislaus Counties.
